The EduSmartHub Bus Scanner application is designed solely for school transport management, transit verification, and attendance tracking. The App processes information strictly required to perform authorized student check-in and check-out functions during transport.
The App uses the device camera exclusively to scan QR codes or barcodes printed on student identification cards when students board or disembark from the school bus. We do not capture, record, store, or share camera photos, images, or video footage. The camera feed is analyzed in memory solely for code decoding and is immediately released.
Used strictly for operational audio feedback, tone beeps, and audio alerts during scanning routines to confirm successful or unsuccessful card reads to the bus attendant. We do not record, transmit, or analyze background environmental audio or voice conversations.
When a student identification card is scanned, the App records the student identifier, timestamp, and bus route ID. This information is transmitted securely over an encrypted connection to the school's EduSmartHub ERP server to maintain verified attendance and transport records.
2 How We Use the Information
The data collected via the App is used strictly to:
- Transit Timestamps: Record student boarding and drop-off timestamps accurately.
- Parent & School Notifications: Notify school administration and authorized parents regarding student transit status in real time.
- Student Safety: Ensure the safety and security of students during school transportation and prevent unauthorized disembarkation.
We do not use scanning data or bus attendant logs for behavioral profiling, commercial advertising, or marketing campaigns.
3 Data Protection and Security
We employ robust administrative, technical, and physical security measures to safeguard all transit and attendance information:
- Transport Layer Security: All communications between the App and EduSmartHub servers are encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (HTTPS/TLS) technology.
- Restricted Access: Only authenticated, authorized school administrators and assigned transport staff have access to the boarding data.
- No Third-Party Commercialization: We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize student or staff personal information to third parties, brokerages, or advertising networks.
4 User Account and Data Deletion
Data collected via the App is managed by the respective subscribing educational institution (the school). If a school administrator, parent, legal guardian, or student wishes to review, update, export, or request the deletion of their attendance and scanning records, they may contact us or their school administrator:
